Myors notches 300 game milestone
Friday, 20th July
This weekend sees a first in the history of the Willetton Football Club as club legend David Myors runs out for the 300th time when the Blues take on arch rivals Bullcreek Leeming at Beasley Park on Saturday at 2:35pm.
David first played for the Blues in 2003 and played in his first premiership as the club took out the 2004 Drew Banfield Colts premiership with a gutsy 9 point win over the Bombers. Since then David has been a perennial feature of the league side over 13 seasons, playing in excess of 220 league games for the club.
A two time Golden Boot winner for the club in seasons 2005 and 2006, David was also an integral part of the 2007 C Grade League Premiership team which saw the club elevated to B Grade after a one year absence. In the following season, the club got within inches of an A Grade promotion after narrowly going down in the Preliminary Final.
David has also been a highly successful coach in his time at the Blues, where he has overseen our highly successful Colts program. David delivered the ultimate success for the club when he coached the Colts team to a memorable Drew Banfield Colts Premiership in season 2013. Many of the players David has coached in his time as Colts coach will be teammates of his come bouncedown on Saturday.
David's commitment to the Willetton Football Club goes beyond his playing and coaching exploits, as he has served on the committee for the better part of 8 years in both the Vice President position and also in a general committee role. This has led David into taking on such tasks as the organisation of club events such as Ladies Day, Past Players Day and the annual end of season Ball. David was awarded life membership of the club in 2010, the same year he was presented the club’s Jim Grace Best Clubperson award for his outstanding service to the club.
Everyone at the Willetton Football Club would like to congratulate David on this momentous milestone for the club.
